White Walls

White Walls
Surrounding me,
Encompassing me,
Wherever I look I find a worry
Down the hall, around the corner,
Lurking in the shadows.
Anxiety, Confusion, Frustration
Caused by these White Walls.
I want to run, scream, and hide
Collapse, mental deforestation.
I want to be calm again
To feel happiness and joy
But I can see it's not just me
It's on the face of many girls and boys.
Why am I feeling this way?
Maybe I could ask the gleaming White Walls.
As the sun dawns a new day,
I dread coming to these White Walls.
As the shadows of the young sing and dance,
my shadow has yet to join these haunting
White Walls.
